ABOUT ME

I believe having art in my life since childhood, has been a wonderfull blessing. I remember in the sixth grade we had to draw a self portrait, and I guess mine was good, because the teacher had me going around to help classmates with theirs.  Although I didn't know what to say or do. To this day, I am not good at explaining how I paint, I just do it.

Growing up in Walnut Creek, CA, I remember going down to the creek that actually ran through my school.Talk about Awesome!  Looking at such beauty, I thought, "Someday I am going to paint stuff like this."

Also my Uncle Ray Stanley was an awesome Artist! As well as my cousins Tony, and Lori Stanley. They were my heroes.  My Uncle Ray once started an ocean painting to teach me how.......that was about 50 years ago. I still have the painting, and need to finish it :).

I did a lot of pencil and pastel portraits when I was in my teens. I loved to draw.

Once my two beautiful daughters were all grown up and living on their own, I decided I was going to go all out and purchase some Oil Paints.  I was so intimidated by them. I thought it was a lot of money to spend on myself. Oh well, I decided, " it was my time now."

That was about 8 years ago.  Once I started, oh my goodness! I loved to paint! I was painting for every body who asked, and just making people happy, was my reward.

About 5 years ago, one of my neighbors told me, " your talent is a gift from God, it would be sinful for you not to share it."  Since that day, I decided to make a career with my art.  I am loving every minute of it!

Currently I have some of my paintings at American Tim Cannery in Pacific Grove, CA.  I have Originals as well as Giclees ( Prints on Canvas).  I am also a member of The Delta Gallery in the Streets of Brentwood where I have Originals as well as Giclee Prints, Matted Prints, and Greeting Cards.

I also love doing commissioned paintings.  My favorite to do is memorials.  Whether it is a loved one passed or a pet that has passed, to be able to memorialize them in a painting that the person can look at and make an emotional connection......there is so much joy I get out of that.  Feel free to contact me with your ideas or requests, or just to say Hi :)
